What a wonderful long weekend...

A warm and wonderful long weekend.  So warm in fact that some children were in the water, minus their swimmers!  We had suprisingly warm weather over the weekend which was so lovely after the cold of the last few weeks.
The Taste of the Huon was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed checking out all the beautiful produce and delicious food.  A lovely day spent exploring our new "local" area.  Don't you just love sunny days?  Complete with 'Punch and Judy" Theatre, which reminded me of days even before I was a child.  Enid Blyton eat your heart out!

The walk to school

One of the highlights of our new location is the proximity to the local primary school.  We designed it that way on purpose.  We may not have the best house, but we do have a great new school for our children to attend.  The walk to school is good for everyone.  It is so refreshing not to have to hassle everyone into the car, but to walk out the gate and across the road and on to school.  It takes us about 8 minutes to get there.  We even have a local cafe on the way, or on the way home as it may be!

Here we are spotted having a milkshake after school one day. Such a lovely way to end the daily routine.

Tricycle Cafe

A gorgeous little hidden spot, just inside the Peacock Theatre foyer, off Salamanca in Hobart.   Great coffee too.  I found my self reminiscing on days long, long ago on "Nanna's red bike". A very old large size original tricycle which lived in the ordinary suburban backyard of my great Grandmother. A different era.  You may have to wait a while for a table or perch on a bench, but it was worth the wait. Happy times spent exploring my new city.

A busy week

I have had a busy week, partly uninspiring, partly invigorating, but mainly freezing!!! New city knows how to do cold extremely well.  Some sick children and some sleep deprivation always seem to rob you of your inspiration, but finally now some time for reflection.  Thankful once again for wonderful friends, new ones and old.  Joys and ups and downs all part of life's tapestry.  Just as the friends are too.

One of life's little blessings

I love windows.  I wish I had more time to just sit and look out of them.  Sometimes there is nothing more lovely than sitting and gazing out the window.  Only made more perfect with a cup of earl grey tea.
