Inspiration comes in many forms and most recently, all from "book" people. I had such a wonderful time meeting Alison Lester again last week and was inspired by the amazing work that she has been doing in remote Australian communities. Her collaborative work with the children from these tiny Queensland and Northern Territory was so brilliant. So too her artwork with children affected by the fires in Victoria. Her latest book to be published is a joint effort with Coral Tulloch, called One Small Island a gorgeous picture book about Macquarie Island, to be launched in Hobart on the 31st July. Alison is a big favourite in our house and it was so exciting to catch up with her again after many years.
